A University of Santo Tomas (UST) student topped the October 2019 Electronics Engineering and Electronics Technician Board Examinations, the Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Friday.

Out of 2,460 passers, Neil Kenneth Tamina Mendoza topped the board exam with a rating of 92 percent.
Hannah Joy Dumaoal Fadullon with a 91.80 percent rating from Collegio de Dagupan was second.
Adrian Miguel Sofia Umengan from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) –Sta. Mesa came third with a 91 percent rating.
The rest of the top 10 are as follows, Jess Eleponga Leal from Saint Louis University was fourth with a 90.40 percent rating, while Charlene Andaya Alcira from PUP – Sta. Rosa and Dlord Mc Dhevic Poquiz Rosario from the University of Pangasinan shared the fifth place both having a 90 percent rating.
Samuel Peralta Candava from the Asia Pacific College, Frederick Balderam Estrella from the University of Rizal System –Antipolo, Gideon Clarence Saw Ong from the De La Salle University-Manila were all in sixth place with an 89.90 percent rating.
Cherish Antoinette Ahorro Ferrer another student of the Collegio de Degupan took the seventh place with an 89.70 percent rating.
Reine Jaina Mendoza Reynoso from the University of the Philippines –Diliman was eighth with an 89.60 percent rating.
Eli Samual Takeda Carisma from the Bulacan State University – Malolos and Lorenz Ann Ladines Villaverde from Southern Luzon State University –Lucban shared the ninth place with an 89.50 percent rating.
Jay Patrick Monton Nieles another student from UST, Demetrio Moreno Olarte yet another from the Asia Pacific College and Ian Kenneth Gonzales Santiago from the Holy Angel University all came in tenth place with an 89.20 percent rating.
The top performing school is the University of the Philippines with a 97.30 percent passing rate.
The examination was conducted on October 19 and 20 in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Lucena and Tuguegarao.
Meanwhile, the Electronics Technician (ECT) board exam was conducted the next day on October 21.
Out of 2,589 passers, UST student Neil Kenneth Tamina Mendoza topped the examination again with a 94 percent rating.
He was followed by Christian Blanza Barrita from PUP –Taguig who came second with a 92 percent rating.
Adrian Miguel Sofia Umengan from PUP –Sta. Mesa who also came third in the ECE board exam shared the third place with Faustine Adrian Gonzales Laviña from Rizal Technological University and Gene Patrick Salas Rible from the University of the Philippine–Diliman.
Mapua University-Manila was hailed as the top performing school with a 96.99 percent passing rate.
The ECT board examination was administered in the same cities as the ECE board examination.
The ECE and ECT board examination was given by the Board of Electronic Engineering (BEE) led by its Chairman Engr. Alnar L. Detalla and members, Engr. Enrico Claro R. Delmoro and Engr. Herminio J. Orbe.
