The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) on Thursday said its Accounting Service Office was recognized for the first time as one of the Outstanding Accounting Service Offices in the country during the recently concluded 2019 Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines Annual Convention Seminar in Cagayan de Oro City.
Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) head Chief Superintendent Allan Iral
(BJMP / MANILA BULLETIN) BJMP Jail Director Allan Iral received the award with the bureau’s Chief Accountant Arnel Romero and his staff. BJMP spokesman Chief Inspector Xavier Solda said the bureau was cited for its accuracy in all of its financial statements and financial accountability reports, timeliness of submission of financial statements, compliance on reports following the local and international accounting standards and the unmodified audit opinion of the Auditors based on the existing financial accounting frameworks. “What our Accounting Service Office had achieved exemplifies our commitment to continue to excel in our fiscal systems and procedures,” said Iral. Iral noted “the award serves as a challenge to us to continue improving our service delivery while maintaining the highest accounting standards in our system’’. Also, Romero lauded the efforts of his men in the Accounting Service. “I’m happy for this pat on our shoulders. This only shows that everyone is putting all efforts in maintaining the highest accounting standards in all of our systems and procedures,’’ Romero said. “We will continue to do our best for the bureau,’’ he added. Solda said the BJMP an ISO certified agency will continue its commitment towards providing the delivery of outstanding public service.
