John Ross Concepcion de los Santos, 35, was shot dead at 5:30 p.m.Sunday by an unidentified man as he and his reported girlfriend Danielin Licup were seated on a motorcycle parked on a road fronting a food stall in Legion II-B Subdivision, Barangay Carsadang Bagong I.

De los Santos was known in the FlipTop rap circle as "LilJohn". FlipTop videos are popular among the youth netizens.

Police said that the gunman spared Licup during the attack

De los Santos suffered a bullet wound in the head and was declared dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Imus.

The victim, a resident of Tambo, Paranaque City, Metro Manila, was a popular personality in FlipTop videos.

Two shells for a .45 cal. pistol were found at the scene, he said.

In an interview, Villanueva said that he and his colleagues are looking into some angles, including "love triangle" as the motive of the rapper's killing.

"Love triangle is one and we are also looking into other angles, the investigation on the case is still ongoing," Villanueva said.

The officer-on-case cited that the "triangle" may involve De los Santos' past love relationship.

When asked who was the suspect and about any "person of interest" in the killing, Villanueva said: "Wala pa po," (None yet.).

Initial investigation conducted by Villanueva showed that De los Santos and Licup were waiting for their fried chicken order at the stall and were seated on the motorcycle when the gunman came and fired.

Lieutenant Colonel Jose Junar P. Alamo, Imus police chief, ordered Villanueva and the other investigators to look into the case thoroughly and find a lead that may well identify the gunman and others involved.

Relatives, friends and the FlipTop supporters have mourned the demise of De los Santos and have sought justice for the rapper's killing.

The Cavite PPO earlier renewed and intensified its drive against criminality following the reported shooting incidents in the neighboring districts of Dasmarinas and Imus and some municipalities in the province.

The fatal shooting involving De los Santos was just one of the incidents that were reported in the province this month and in September.
