The owner of a company producing plastic products and several others are facing charges for allegedly stealing raw materials worth almost P6 million.
National Bureau of Investigation (MANILA BULLETIN)
National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Deputy Director Vicente De Guzman III said a criminal complaint has been filed against ETK Plastic Trading owner Dennis King before the Valenzuela City Prosecutor’s Office for violating Republic Act 1612, the Anti-Fencing Law.
The case was filed after operatives of the NBI’s Anti-Organized Transnational Crime Division (NBI-AOTCD) served last Tuesday a search warrant at the ETK warehouse in Valenzuela City and discovered 419 sacks of plastic resin believed to have been stolen. The resin is used in making plastic cups, plastic bottles and other plastic products.
Also named as respondents in the complaint was warehouse manager Mary Grace Villarose de Tan who was arrested when the search warrant was served and a certain Neil.
The NBI also filed qualified theft charges against truck driver Edwin Cabrera, his helper Joseph Amansec, Edwin Camarin, and Edmar Asis.
De Guzman said the operation was conducted based on the complaint of a private corporation engaged in the manufacture of pulp, paper and paperboard.
The complainant conducted an inventory last September 29 of the plastic resins delivered to it but discovered there were missing 990 sacks worth P5,915,460.
Because of this, the complainant sought the help of the NBI to conduct the investigation since last August 21 it conducted an inventory of another delivery also found missing sacks of plastic resin.
During the conduct of the investigation, a truck driver came forward and revealed that Cabrera and Amansec who both picked up the latest delivery had sold the missing sacks to ETK.
