"Healing priest” Father Fernando Suarez has been banned from doing his activities in the Diocese of Malaybalay in Bukidnon.
Malaybalay Bishop Jose Cabantan of Malaybalay said Suarez has been conducting his healing activities without the necessary permit from his diocese.

“We ask their group to secure a ‘celebret’ or an endorsement from his bishop so we can allow him to celebrate Mass and does healing. But we have not received it,” he said in a CBCP News post.
Based on his Memorandum dated October 7, Cabantan said any priest who wishes to say Mass in a church other than the one that he is attached to must present an endorsement letter or popularly called today as "celebret" from his bishop or superior before he can lawfully celebrate the Eucharist as provided by Canon Law.
"I, therefore, summon all clergy of Malaybalay to be vigilant and to religiously follow this memorandum. It is by means of this letter of endorsement that we comprehend the bearer's legitimate ordination to the priesthood, his good moral standing from his diocese or religious affiliation, his freedom from penalty that excludes him to celebrate the Eucharist, or from any irregularity, and his commendable status in general," he said.
Cabantan also warned the clergy, religious and lay faithful in the diocese of some priests from other sects who are present in the diocese.
“I am calling all the clergy, religious and our lay faithful to be vigilant and cautious about their presence,” he said.
“We may always show them the respect that they deserve as persons and fellow Christians but mindful always of the law of the Church concerning the proper minister of the Sacraments,” Cabantan added.
In the past, Suarez was also banned by some bishops from holding healing masses in their respective dioceses such as in Malolos and Lingayen Dagupan.
