Motorists are advised to avoid the Diliman-Katipunan area in Quezon City to be spared of the heavy traffic expected as the University of the Philippines College Entrance Examination (UPCAT) and the Ateneo Senior High Admission and Placement Exam (ASHAPE) are scheduled to be held this weekend.

The UPCAT and ASHAPE are both scheduled on Saturday and Sunday (October 5 and 6), causing an influx of motorists and pedestrians in the already traffic prone area.
Ateneo de Manila University, in its advisory, said that 2,400 examinees will be taking this year’s exams.
Some 11,000 are expected to take the UPCAT in UP Diliman.
The office of the Vice-Chancellor of UP Diliman in an advisory on their Facebook page said that during the examination dates, the “No UP Sticker /UP ID, No Entry” will be temporarily suspended.
Traffic flow in the Academic Oval as well as on TM Kalaw, Quirino, Roxas Avenue and Osmeña will still be one-way, while Velasquez Street, Regidor Street, Roces Avenue and Magsaysay Avenue will be open to two-way traffic.
The carless Academic Oval policy will also be suspended on Sunday (October 6).
Also, the no parking policy will strictly be enforced at the Academic Oval, Regidor Street, Magsaysay Avenue and Quirino Avenue.
The entrance near the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG) and the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) will be open for vehicles heading toward Commonwealth Avenue.
Motorists will be barred from entering the School of Labor and Industrial Relations (SOLAIR) as well as the NCPAG parking lot.
The streets between the College of Science and Marine Science Institute (MSI) will only be for one-way traffic heading to the Math Building and for those heading toward Velasquez Street.
UPCAT and ASHAPE takers will likely have companions with them or relatives who will fetch them, which could easily double the number of people and vehicles that will be within the same vicinity at the same time.
