The holding of the plebiscite on the ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) yesterday in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), Cotabato City, and Isabela City was generally peaceful, according to Armed Forces of the Philippines-Western Mindanao Command (AFP-WestMinCom) spokesman Col. Gerry Besana.

Besana said that voting in the three areas covered by the plebiscite closed at 3 p.m. and the counting of votes is ongoing.
"So we're waiting for the final turn-out, details from ground units. (The plebiscite was) generally very peaceful, of course with some isolated issues na hindi naman natin agad-agad din ma-attribute sa plebiscite," Besana said.
"Minsan ano lang, personal lang. Nagkataon lang, nagkasabay lang sa plebisito .
"Secured naman na lahat tapos na, so counting naman tayo ," he added.
Besana said as of 3.p.m. Monday, they have not received reports of violence related to the plebiscite.
Besana earlier said top security and Commission on Election (Comelec) officials established a monitoring center in Zamboanga City for the plebiscite.
The monitoring team is headed by top military and police officials and heads of the Commission on Elections, including Lieutenant General Arnel Dela Vega, commander of the Western Mindanao Command; Police Director Daniel Macatlang, Jr., director of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations-Western Mindanao; and Comelec Director Teofisto Elnas, Jr., deputy head of the Bangsamoro Plebiscite.
The BOL plebiscite was held in the provinces of Maguindanao, Sulu, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, and Tawi-Tawi under the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao; in the provinces of Lanao del Norte and North Cotabato; and in the cities of Cotabato and Isabela.
More than 18,000 soldiers and policemen were deployed to secure the said areas.
At high noon Monday, Comelec Commissioner Antonio Kho, Jr. inspected the monitoring center stationed at the WestMinCom’s Command Operations Center in Camp Navarro, this city.
