Tricycle driver shot dead in TaguigÂ
A tricycle driver was injured after he was shot by his live-in partner's former lover while sleeping inside his home in Taguig City on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Norvie Gonzaga, 27. Gonzaga is in stable condition and is currently confined at the Taguig Pateros District Hospital.
Investigation showed that the incident occurred at around 3 in the morning in Taguig City.
Police said that Gonzaga was together with his live-in partner Raquel VIto, 29, sleeping inside their home when the suspect identified only as "Syano" barged inside.
The suspect, armed with a caliber .38 pistol, shot Gonzaga hitting him in the back before fleeing to an unknown direction. Vito immediately asked assistance from the barangay and rushed Gonzaga to the hospital.
The victim told police that the suspect is Vito's former lover who already threatened to kill him. Police are still conducting further investigations to locate the suspect. (Dhel Nazario)
Chinese nat'l nabbed for illegal possession of drugs, firearms in PasayÂ
A Chinese man was arrested after illegal drugs and firearms were recovered inside the hotel room he was occupying in Pasay City on Sunday.
The man was identified by police as YIn Xuan Sun, 22. Sun's arrest stemmed from the report of the hotel's staff.
Investigation showed that at around 8:30 in the evening, staff from a hotel requested police assistance regarding an awful smell emanating from room 344 of the hotel in Pasay City.
Elements of the Baclaran Police Community Precinct arrived to verify the report. Inside the room, they spotted rotting food and several sachets of suspected shabu and an armscor box containing 21 pieces of live ammunition which led to Sun's arrest.
They recovered from the room seven small transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu. They also recovered from the suspect a Llama caliber 7.65 mm loaded with three pieces of live ammunition.
The case was later referred to the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Pasay City Police for proper investigation and disposition.
Sun will be facing charges in violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and RA 10592 or the or Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions. (Dhel Nazario)
P400k robbed from a courier service in Mandaluyong
Within only seven minutes, a burglar took about P400,000 cash from an office branch of a courier service in Mandaluyong City Sunday, police said.
Initial investigation disclosed that John Kenneth Entela, administrative personnel of J&T Express, found at around 7 a.m. that the roll-up door of their office located in Barangay Malamig was forcibly opened.
Police said J&T Express delivers parcels, packages, and items ordered from online shops.
According to a security footage recovered by probers, a male suspect destroyed the main door of the office branch, police said.
Once inside, the still to be identified suspect quickly searched the room where he find a total of P400,000 cash inside the drawer of a table.
Police said the heist only lasted for seven minutes which began at 3:18 a.m to 3:25 a.m. that same day.
Investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest the burglar. (Jhon Aldrin Casinas)
