OWWA rebates for OFWs

By Freddie Velez  MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan — About 11,200 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from Bulacan may claim their rebates from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) at the OWWA help desk on 2nd floor of the Livelihood Training Center, Antonio S. Bautista Provincial Capitol Compound. (MANILA BULLETIN) Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (MANILA BULLETIN) Qualified for the rebates are Bulakenyos who have been OWWA members for 10 years or more, had paid at least five membership contributions, and have neither claimed nor used any OWWA programs and benefits. To check if eligible for rebate, Bulakenyos may log in to www.owwa.gov.ph, answer the online verification form. If eligible, they can set an appointment with the nearest OWWA office to claim the rebates. Gov. Daniel R. Fernando encouraged the Bulakenyos to grab the opportunity to enjoy the benefits offered by the government institution. The OWWA help desk will be in the province on Sept. 16-20, Oct. 7-11, Oct. 21-25, Nov. 4-8, Nov. 18-22, Dec. 2-6 and Dec. 16-20. Next year the help desk will return to Bulacan Jan. 6-10, Jan. 20-24, Feb. 3-7, Feb. 17-21, March 2-6, March 16-20, and March 30-April 3. For more information, call OWWA hotline 1348 or message them at OWWA Rebate Program Facebook page. The OWWA also clarified that rebate is not a refund or a cashback of their contribution.
