A transgender woman was found dead in a resort in Bolinao, Pangasinan on Tuesday.
Jessa Remiendo was found dead covered in white sand along the shores of Patar beach in Bolinao with a hack wounds on her neck and eye.
Remiendo was found only in her underwear and a red kimono-like top.
According to The United Pangasinan Association of LGBTQIA+ Inc., Remiendo went out to drink with her co-workers at Valdevia resort on Monday night.
She told her co-workers that she was going to buy cigarettes but never returned. She was found lifeless the following morning.
The motive of the killing has yet to be determined.
Noreen Barber, an official of the LGBTQIA+ association, posted on her Facebook account the need to pass the Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) Equality bill to protect the members of the LGBTQIA+ from discrimination, violence, and harassment.
