NEGROS ORIENTAL — About 1,500 Girl Scouts from Negros Oriental and Siquijor are expected to attend the 37th Council Junior, Senior Cadet Encampment of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) at Camp Lily Gamo, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, Sept. 19 to 22.

GSP Negros Oriental/Siquijor Council President Profetiza Lim said the campers will be divided into Junior and Elementary levels, Senior or High School, and Cadet or the College category.
This year’s encampment theme is GSP: Honoring the Past, Treasuring the Present, Shaping the Future. “It encompasses GSP’s historical feats and attainments being valued today and mold it for tomorrow,” Lim said.
Activities lined up during the event include briefing-orientation on crime prevention and peace advocacy in observance of the National Crime Prevention Week and National Consciousness Month this September.
The campers will also be briefed on the Department of Health’s anti-dengue campaign to encourage them to follow the 4S Strategy with dengue cases continuing to increase in the province.
There will also be encounter/adventure games, disaster preparedness, first aid, earthquake drill, waste segregation, and tree planting.
