A 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck the province of Romblon Saturday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The quake, which was tectonic in its origin, was traced 23 kilometers (km) northwest of San Jose, Romblon and occurred at 6:35 p.m. It had a depth of 15 km.
In its 6:59 p.m. advisory, Intensity I was felt in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
Meanwhile, the following instrumental intensities were also registered in these areas:
Intensity II - Malinao and Kalibo, Aklan; Sebaste, Antique
Intensity I - San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
According to PHIVOLCS, no aftershocks or damages are expected.
