2 vendors perish in Tayabas road accident

By Danny Estacio  TAYABAS CITY, Quezon – Two vendors riding on a motorcycle were killed after colliding with a car Saturday morning in Barangay Camaysa here. The victims identified were Angelo Pon-An Villa Juan, 33, single and a resident of Brgy. Ipilan, Tayabas City and Sally Elpa, 47, of Barangay Ayuti in Lucban town. The driver of the car was identified as Fernando Tobias, 68, of Lucena City. Police investigators said the victims were negotiating the provincial road at around 8:50 a.m., Saturday, and were headed towards Lucban, when they rammed into a Toyota Camry, which was travelling in the opposite direction. Juan, who was driving the motorcycle but only a holder of a student-driver permit, and Elpa were brought to the hospital by a rescue team, but both were declared dead on-arrival. Tobias was taken into custody by the city police.
