Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara will celebrate a high mass at 6 p.m. Saturday, August 17, at the Santa Clara de Montefalco Parish in Caniogan, Pasig City, to mark the Feast of Saint Clare (Santa Clara) of Montefalco, an Italian religious leader, and model of religious life.

Holy masses will also be held at 6 a.m. and at 10 a.m., which will be followed by the kissing of the saint’s relic.
At the Santa Clara de Montefalco Parish on Burgos Street, Pasay City, Monsignor Clemente Ignacio will celebrate the fiesta mass on Sunday, August 18, at 9 a.m.
Also known as Saint Clare of the Cross because of her intense devotion to the Passion of Christ, she formed the Monastery of the Holy Cross at her birthplace in Montefalco, Italy, where her relics are venerated today.
Born in the year 1268, she entered the rule of the Third Order of St. Francis as a very young girl. She died in 1318 and was canonized on Dec. 8, 1881, by Pope Leo XIII.
