Cops impress crowd in talent competition

TACLOBAN City - Dancing and singing police officers of Police Regional Office 8 wowed over 5,000 spectators in the 5th Pulis Got Talent at the Tacloban City Convention Center Friday night.

Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office (PPO) bested 8 contingents from all city and provincial police offices in Eastern Visayas with their Creation of Man-themed performance highlighted by air dancing.

Leyte PPO and Biliran PPO won second and third place respectively, while the Regional Mobile Force Battalion was awarded as a hall of famer for winning the said competition for 4 years.

Eastern Visayas Police Director PBGen. Dionardo Carlos, said the event is part of their Community Relations Month, where he underscored the importance of the relationship between the community and uniformed personnel.

"Nandito po kami para magpasaya sa kabila ng pagtupad namin ng aming tungkulin na kayo ay pagsilbihan at protektahan," Carlos said.

He added that the event also aims to drumbeat support for their community outreach programs, wherein they intend to provide a service vehicle for teachers in a remote village in Leyte.

"This is also a fundraising activity, where we engage our stakeholders to support us in our regular programs for schools and disadvantaged students" he added.

Model-actor Matteo Guidicelli also served as a guest performer during the celebration.
