11 houses in Lavezares town hit by tornado

Hours after the tornado, Lavezares was struck by a magnitude 4.8 earthquake at 5:10 am Sunday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported. The quake had a depth of 15 km, with the following intensities: Intensity IV- Pambujan, Catarman, Laoang, San Roque, Mondragon, Northern Samar Intensity III- Palapag, Biri, Mapanas, San Jose, Gamay, Lavezares, Las Navas, San Isidro, Rosario, Victoria, Lope de Vega, Allen, Lapinig, Silvino Lobos, Northern Samar; San Policarpo, Eastern Samar. Phivolcs also said the quake registered as Intensity III in Borongan City At 7:17 am, a magnitude 4.4 quake was felt in Pambujan. No aftershocks and damage are expected from the tremor.
