This comes a week after he issued an order prohibiting the sale of liquor within 200 meters of schools.
Even if office hours at the Manila City Hall ended at 5 p.m., Domagoso barged in the building with police officers and officials of the city hall to Sherwood, Taft to conduct a surprise inspection at around 7 p.m.
Upon arriving in the area, he talked to the manager of the bar who was selling liquor and put up a sign that read: “Establishment closed for violation of city ordinances.”
The Manila chief has officially closed down at least seven bars in Sherwood which students of the De La Salle University called as “Happy Thursday.”
He said business owners must mend their violations before they can operate again.
He added that they can finish this process and resume business operations immediately.
After closing down bars near the university, Moreno went to Sta Mesa to give money to centenarians.
He personally handed over P100,000 incentives for the centenarians in Manila.
Instead of making them come to him, he went to the house of the centenarians.
