Senator Manuel M. Lapid said Wednesday the reopening by President Duterte of the gaming operations of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) he closed last weekend showed that the probe into alleged irregularities at the PCSO is being pursued.

“Maganda ito para sa marami nating kababayan na umaasa sa lotto bilang kanilang kabuhayan pati na rin sa pondong ipinapasok nito sa kaban na siyang pinagkukunan para ibigay sa mga pasyenteng tinutulungan ng PCSO,’’ Lapid said. (This is good news to our countrymen who rely on Lotto for their employment and for the medical needs of indigent patients.)
Lapid said he is one with the majority of Filipinos who await the result of the President’s investigation into alleged corrupt practices that led to the bleeding of revenues for the PCSO.
Lapid said the majority of Filipinos, likewise, await the direction of the Duterte administration on whether it would allow the Small Town Lottery (STL), Peryahan ng Bayan and Keno to operate again as they are shrouded with controversies.
