Prior to their arrest, the Special Mayor’s Reaction Team received a tip from a concerned citizen that the vendors were installing illegal jumpers along Juan Luna Street corner Claro M Recto Avenue, Tondo, Manila at around 6:00 p.m. Monday. Recovered from Cabauatan and Garcia were electrical wires, screwdrivers, and pliers. “Ito 'yung mga Spiderman ng Recto. Dapat magbayad sa akin ang Disney, Marvel. Kaya lang, nahuli siya ng Avengers (These are the Spidermen of Recto. Disney, Marvel should pay me. The mayor also asked Manila resident to stop installing illegal power connections because it is not safe. “Hindi yan ligtas. Bat di na lang kayo magapply sa meralco? Kuryente nga ngayon text na lang reload na eh. Kunin niyo na lang serbisyo ng meralco. (It is not safe. Why don’t you apply with Meralco? The electricity now is reloadable through text. Get the service of Meralco),” Domagoso said. The suspects will be facing charges of Republic Act 7832 (Anti-Electricity and Electrical Transmission Lines/Materials Pilferage Act of 1994), police said.
