"Binabalanse ko ang pagpapatakbo ng gobyerno, taong-gobyerno na tayo ngayon. Kailangan natin mamahala," he said. Getting rid of street vendors around the city was part of Moreno’s cleanup campaign. "That's not true. I challenge kahit sino. May vendor sa Ilaya, sa Tabora, Santo Cristo. Street vendors. Nandun sila, maayos naman. Ang balik ko sa kanila wala nang tong-pats (patong)," he said. He added that those legal vendors who were removed were transferred to other areas. Moreno said that he is just performing the "normal" duties of a mayor. "Yung ginagawa ko normal na ginagawa ng isang mayor," he said. The newly-elected Mayor earlier vowed to restore the capital city and has been earning praises for his efforts for the city including the implementation of several clearing operations, restoration of the capital’s cultural heritage, as well as his surprise inspections around the city.
