Grab Philippines has rolled out two new features, which will make travelling easier for their riders who have kids, or who own pets.
The ride-hailing service launched GrabFamily and GrabPet, in compliance with Republic Act No. 11229, the Child Safety in Motor Vehicle Act, and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board's (LTFRB) amended memorandum 2019-09 which allows animals inside Public Utility Vehicles, respectively.
The fees for the special features are higher than the regular services of Grab.

'GrabFamily'
GrabFamily, according to Grab Philippines official website, is a "product made for passengers who will travel with their young ones."
Grab said only its car owners or drivers with six-seater vehicles may have the family feature, and those eligible will have to undergo child safety training.
Drivers with the feature will also be required to "purchase approved child restraint device" which should be placed in the rear seat of the car.
GrabFamily vehicles will be equipped with a child seat, which Grab will provide. The seat should be suitable for children weighing between 15 to 36 kilograms and whose height is below 4’9 feet.
If GrabFamily was not requested by the rider, the driver can uninstall the seat as needed.
"Please just ensure to setup the device once GrabFamily is requested," Grab said on their website.
'GrabPet'
Riders who wish to go around places with their pets can now book a "comfortable and convenient" ride with Grab, through GrabPet.
Like GrabFamily, GrabPet will be an exclusive feature for six-seater units.
Pets allowed in rides are dogs, cats, turtles, hamsters, rabbits, and fish.
"All pets must be accompanied by human passengers. Pets with parasites and/or fleas are strictly not allowed," Grab said.
Grab will provide drivers eligible for the feature with a pet kennel, which can fit one large breed dog, or two medium breed dogs or two cats; a waterproof cargo liner for the car's rear area; and a pet barrier.
Grab will also provide a microfiber towel, and an air freshener, for drivers to maintain the cleanliness of their vehicles.
"If your car is soiled during a GrabPet ride, please follow the claim process via “Report a past trip issue” in the in-app Help Centre, and provide all supporting documents (i.e. photo of stain or waste, receipt of car cleaning)," Grab said.
Passengers, meanwhile, must provide muzzles and leashes for their pets.
GrabPet drivers can accept a maximum of two medium-sized pets, like poodles, or any type of cat, or one large-sized pet, like a Golden Retriever. Acceptance of extra pets will be up to the driver-partner.
