Giant Tilapia caught in Estero de San Miguel in Manila

PRCC took this as a positive result of the rehabilitation being undertaken in Pasig River’s tributaries. “Tunay ngang nakikita na natin ang positibong pagbabago ng ating mga ilog dahil sa pagtutulungan natin na buhayin at pangalagaan ang mga ito,” PRRC officials wrote. They also added: “Ipagpatuloy natin ang mga mabubuting gawain na ito at tiyak na bibiyayaan tayo ng ating kalikasan!” “Buhay na buhay talaga mga tilapia dyan,. parang hito narin yan eh, kung ano ano din kinakain nyan,” Facebook user John Patrick Salanga commented. Netizens questioned if the giant tilapia was safe to eat. Tilapia feeds on algae or small aquatic plant cells, and is primarily raised in freshwater system like raceways or open waters.
