DOJ to get 48 newly appointed prosecutors

By Jeffrey Damicog The Department of Justice (DOJ) will get over 40 new prosecutors who were recently appointed by Malacañang. Department of Justice (MANILA BULLETIN) Department of Justice (MANILA BULLETIN) Guevarra said that, just this week,  Malacañang released the appointment of a “total of 48 new prosecutors.” Despite the appointments, the Secretary had previously admitted that the DOJ is still in need of hundreds of prosecutors. “Maybe around 600,” the DOJ chief disclosed. Guevarra said  Malacañang was already aware of the situation at the DOJ and was trying to fill up the vacancies. “Unti-unti (slowly) the President’s office is trying to catch up because we have been constantly following up this matter about the lack of prosecutors,” he had said. “In fairness, slowly in batches nalalabas sila ng appointments (they have been churning out the appointments),” Guevarra added.
