The National Police Commission (Napolcom) has opened the filing of applications for the August 25 Police Executive Service Eligibility (PESE) Written Examination for Police Commissioned Officers of the Philippine National Police (PNP) until July 19.
Napolcom vice chairman and executive officer Atty. Rogelio T. Casurao said that the PESE Written Examination is open to all qualified uniformed members of the PNP with the rank of Police Lieutenant Colonel with permanent status of appointment.
“The PESE examination has two phases and is composed of analytical questions on police leadership and police values to test the competence, skills, and mettle of future leaders of the PNP,” Casurao said.
He noted that only those who pass the first phase which is the written examination are qualified to proceed to the second phase which is the validation interview.
Passers of the validation interview shall be conferred the PESE eligibility which is one of the requirements for promotion to the third-level ranks of Police Colonel, Police Brigadier General, Police Major General, Police Lieutenant General, and Police General.
Application forms and index cards can be obtained for free at the Napolcom Central Office or at any Napolcom Regional Office. These may also be downloaded at www.napolcom.gov.ph. Examination fee is P700.
Casurao said qualified applicants may file their application forms at any of the 17 Napolcom Regional Offices nationwide, indicating their choice of examination center—Metro Manila, Cebu City, or Davao City.
He noted that applications with all the required documents maybe filed personally or by mail on or before the deadline for filing.
Application requirements include: properly accomplished written examination form and index card; three pieces of identical I.D. pictures (one 1” x 1” size and two passport size) with full name tag that includes the first name, middle initial, and surname—taken within three months before the date of filing of the application (scanned, photocopied or computer-enhanced photos will not be accepted); two legal size window envelopes with P20.00 worth of mailing stamps affixed on each envelope; and copy of attested appointment.
