Woman stabbed to death in QC
Police are now probing the death of an 18-year-old woman who was found dead with stab wounds inside her rented apartment in Barangay Payatas B, Quezon City on Friday.
Police Lt. Col. Joel Villanueva, chief of Quezon City Police Station 6 (PS-6), said the victim Allison Dacillo, 18, was dead for at least three hours already prior to her discovery at around 5 p.m.
In a report from PS-6, a witness said she passed by Dacillo's residence at La Trinidad Street, Group 2 in Barangay Payatas B when she smelled something off, prompting her to peep on the partially opened door of the house.
Upon checking, she saw the bloodied body of the young victim lying on her bed without a lower garment.
The witness immediately sought help from the owners of the apartment who relayed the incident to authorities.
According to the police, the victim had multiple stab wounds on her neck, left arm, and left side of her body which caused her death.
Probers said that Dacillo, who was last seen at noon on the same day, was possibly attacked while sleeping as the house was in disarray.
It appears that the victim, who was a Grade 10 student, was living alone in the house as her parents were both working abroad, police said.
Investigators are now checking clips from closed-circuit television installed nearby to trace the still unidentified suspect as further investigation is ongoing. (Alexandria San Juan)
10th most wanted person in San Juan arrested
The 10th most wanted person in San Juan City, charged for allegedly sexually abusing his live-in partner’s daughter, was arrested by police in Tanay, Rizal on Saturday morning.
The suspect was identified as Gerardo Altares alias Jerry Kamatayan, 49, construction worker, of Barangay Plaza Althea in Tanay town, Rizal province.
San Juan City Police chief Colonel Ariel Fulo said Altares is listed as the 10th most wanted person in San Juan City.
Members of the Intelligence and Warrant and Subpoena Units nabbed Altares by the virtue of an arrest warrant at around 6:30 a.m. at his hide-out in Tanay, Rizal.
Judge Cesar Pabel Sulit of San Juan City Regional Trial Court Branch 162 issued the warrant against him for the crime of Other Acts of Child Abuse, the police chief said.
Records showed that Altares was accused by his live-in partner’s 9-year-old daughter of repeatedly abusing her at their house in San Juan City in 2017, police said.
After he was charged in court, Altares escaped and went into hiding where he transferred from place to place to elude arrest.
He was placed under police surveillance after authorities received information that he was hiding in Rizal, and was given refuge by his friend for more than a year, Fulo said.
Police said the suspect was a former drug surrenderer where he was categorized in 2018 by the San Juan City Police as a drug user.

Stolen motorcycle in Valenzuela recovered in Caloocan
A motorcycle that was stolen in Valenzuela City in 2018 was recovered in Caloocan Friday afternoon.
A police report showed that a Honda XRM110 motorcycle owned by a certain Jayson Celestial, 35, resident of General T. De Leon Ave, Valenzuela, was discovered stolen in the said address at around 7:30 a.m on Oct. 22, 2018.
Then on June 7 at around 12:30 p.m, the victim saw his motorcycle being driven in Santo Domingo, Quezon City. He was said to have recognized the motorcycle's plate number.
Celestial then followed the motorcycle until C3 Road in Caloocan, where he sought assistance from the District Traffic Enforcement Unit (DTEU).
They followed the motorcycle which led to the arrest of the man riding the motorcycle in 9th Avenue in Caloocan at around 1 p.m. Police identified him as Ronnie Delacruz, 36, motorcycle mechanic, resident of Antipolo Street, Sta. Cruz, Manila.
Delacruz was held at the DTEU and then arrested after the Anti-Carnapping Unit confirmed that he stole the motorcycle. (Dylan Afuang)
Two men shot dead in separate shooting incidents in QC
Two men were killed in separate shooting incidents in Quezon City on Friday night.
In Novaliches, Police Lt. Col. Rossel Cejas, chief of Quezon City Police Station 4 (PS-4), identified the fatality as Raymond Atienza, 43, a resident of Barangay Sta. Monica.
It appears that Atienza was detained in PS-4 in August last year for possession of illegal drugs.
The police report showed that Atienza was standing in front of a house at Sarmiento Street in Barangay Sta. Monica around 10 p.m. when a man approached him.
A brief commotion suddenly ensued between the two when the still unidentified man pulled out his handgun and repeatedly fired at the victim.
Atienza fell bloodied on the ground and eventually died while the gunman hurriedly escaped.
According to the police, the motive behind the shooting is possibly drug-related.
Meanwhile, Quezon City Police Station 6 commander, Lt. Col. Joel Villanueva identified the second victim as Manuel Toldanes, 46, of Barangay Batasan Hills.
Probers said Toldanes was having a drinking session with his friend in front of his house at No. 11 Riverview Street around 10 p.m. when two armed men appeared and shot the victim.
Toldanes died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds on his body while the suspects immediately fled the scene.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing to identify the motive behind the incident and to locate and arrest the gunmen. (Alexandria San Juan)
Two drug suspects nabbed in Sampaloc, Manila
Two drug suspects, one of them was included in the drug watchlist were nabbed in an anti-criminality operation conducted by police in Sampaloc, Manila on Friday.
The police identified the suspects as Pablo Cabatuan, 50, construction worker, resident of Sampaloc, Manila and Robert Dumantay, 41, tricycle driver of Tondo, Manila.
Investigation showed that Sampaloc Police Station police operatives conducted an anti-criminality operation along Algeciras Street near PNR Rail Road Track Barangay 484, Zone 48, Sampaloc, Manila at around 12:30 p.m. on June 7.
Seized from the suspects were two sachets of suspected shabu and were submitted to the Crime Laboratory of the Manila Police District (MPD) headquarters for examination.
They were temporarily detained at the station’s custodial facility for booking and documentation.
A violation of Section 11, Article II of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (Erma Edera)
Most wanted criminal in Sta. Ana arrested
The most wanted criminal in Sta. Ana Police Station was nabbed by police in Manila on Friday.
Police arrested Randy Lobidisis, 31, single, pedicab driver at around 11:30 p.m. on June 7 along Dike Side, DPWH Compound Sta. Ana, Manila.
Prior to his arrest, operatives received a tip from an informant about his whereabouts.
The police immediately went along the area and nabbed him.
Lobidisis is charged with attempted murder according to the arrest warrant issued by Judge Alfredo Ampuan of Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 40 with recommended bail of P120, 000.
He is currently detained at Sta Ana's Police Station custodial facility pending the return of warrant of arrest and commitment order. (Erma Edera)
Man dead in road mishap in Caloocan
A man died after he was run over by a tractor head when he fell off his motorcycle along C3 Road in Caloocan City on Friday evening.
Police identified the victim as Edilberto Montuya, 40, resident of Sampaloc, Manila.
Ariel Banawa, 35, resident of Tondo, Manila, the driver of the tractor head, surrendered to the police after the incident.
Investigation showed that both vehicles were traversing C3 Road and were headed towards A. Bonifacio Avenue in Quezon City at about 11 p.m.
Montuya reportedly lost control of his motorcycle when he hit a concrete barrier at the corner of Tagaytay Street at Barangay 126.
The victim was thrown from the motorcycle to the cemented pavement and got ran over by the tractor head’s left front tire, killing him instantly.
Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property may be filed against Banawa, police said. (Minka Klaudia Tiangco)
Freelance journalist shot dead in Quezon City
A freelance journalist was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding men near his house in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City over the week.
Investigators of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the victim as Adam Moraleta, 56, a freelance journalist and an account executive of state-run television network PTV based on his identification card.
In an earlier report from QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, Moraleta, who was then still unidentified, just got out of his house at Marcelino Street in Barangay Holy Spirit around 7:25 a.m. Thursday, when two men onboard a motorcycle appeared.
The backrider suddenly pulled out his handgun and repeatedly shot the unaware Moraleta on his head.
The victim died on the spot while the gunmen hurriedly escaped the crime scene.
Probers said a security guard nearby responded and sought help from authorities who transferred the victim's body to Saint Rudy Funeral Services.
Meanwhile, Moraleta's 27-year-old son, Jared, reported to the police station on Saturday that his father was missing for two days already.
On the same day, Jared went back to officers of Barangay Holy Spirit to check the status of his missing father, wherein he was showed a photo of the victim of a shooting incident last Thursday which he positively identified as the older Moraleta.
Police are now checking footages of closed-circuit television installed nearby for possible identification of the gunmen who were described by witnesses to be wearing black jacket and helmet.
