Commander Ludovico Librilla Jr., newly-assigned deputy commander of Headquarters PCG District Southern Visayas based in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, said the construction of the project at Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. (Bredco) port here will cost about P10 million while P60 million will be allotted in Bayawan City.
Both will be funded by the national headquarters, he added.
The three-story building which includes the station in Bayawan City, will be situated at a 4,900-square meter area. Its construction is ongoing, Librilla said.
The construction of the Bacolod project will begin before the year ends, he added.
Librilla said the new PCG building will be occupied by personnel for office matters.
The radar station will aid the Coast Guard personnel to monitor vessels and boats which enter and exit the ports, he added.
“It will be part of our security measures to identify unknown vessels,” Librilla said.
He said that it will also be intended for the safety of the passengers.
This will be the first radar stations in both areas, he said.
