About P500,000 worth of property were lost in a fire that hit a residential area in Barangay Marulas, Valenzuela City Thursday evening.

The Valenzuela City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said about 90 families were rendered homeless by the blaze.
Investigation showed that the fire broke out at Telecom Compound, Tampoy II, in Valenzuela at about 6:50 p.m.
The fire reached first alarm two minutes later and quickly escalated to fourth alarm at about 7:02 p.m.
The fire was declared under control at about 8:30 p.m. but was only put out two hours later.
The Valenzuela BFP said the fire spread quickly due to the light materials in the area.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
Investigators are still probing the cause of the fire.
