PANDI, Bulacan-- A nine-year-old girl drowned in a pool at the Amana Waterpark resort in this town Wednesday, police reported.
The office of Col. Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan police chief, identified the girl as Angel Casquejo of Barangay Bagong Barrio here.
The report noted that when Casquejo was swimming with her friends in one of the pools, a lifeguard noticed that she was floating motionless.
The lifeguard called a rescue team which arrived with an ambulance.
After trying to resuscitate the girl for 15 minutes, the team brought her to the Pandi Emergency Unit. She was later transferred to the Rogaciano Memorial Mercado Hospital in Sta. Maria town and then to the Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) in Malolos City.
The girl was pronounced dead Wednesday night.
Manila Bulletin tried to contact the management of Amana Waterpark and Pandi mayor elect Enrico Roque but their mobile phones were unattended.
