Around 500 job vacancies were offered by more than 40 companies to applicants at the start of the two-day Manila Bulletin Classifieds Jobs Fair 2019 at the SM North EDSA Skydome Tuesday.

The vacancies were in the field of building and construction, BPO, information technology, media, and sales.
The second leg of the five job fairs this year was organized in partnership with DZMM and ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya.
The job fair aims to make people become self-sufficient and become contributors to the nation’s building, said Manila Bulletin Vice President for Advertising Arman Cabrera.
A few hours after the job fair opened, around 400 applicants have already registered.
"Makikita mo sa kanila (You can see from the applicants) yung effort at eagerness nila na maghanap ng trabaho (their eagerness to look for a job)," said Jenife Cuenca-Estrella, total rewards and recruitments manager of LBC.
As one of the exhibitors in the job fair, Cuenca-Estrella added that the Manila Bulletin helped their company get access to job seekers.
One of them was Janemarlene Malabanan, who was seeking a third job in sales after working as a teacher.
Malabanan said she learned about the job fair through Facebook. When asked about her career shift, she shared that she wanted a "different work environment."
Meanwhile, DZMM station manager Mara Capuyan said getting a good job can lead to a better life.
The Manila Bulletin Classifieds Job Fair 2019 ends at 7 p.m. Wednesday (May 22).
