The Taguig City Board of Canvassers proclaimed winners of the local election in the city on Tuesday.

This was after Atty. Edgar Feliciano Aringay, chairman of the City Board of Canvassers decided to lower the voter threshold.

Lino Cayetano, brother of former Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano won the mayoral race, garnering 172, 710 votes against Arnel Cerafica with 108, 050 and Sonny Boy Andrade with 1,326 votes.

On the other hand, Ricardo Cruz, Jr. who will be on his third term, won as Vice Mayor by getting 157,941 votes against Jun Duenas with 104, 549.

Incumbent Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano won as second district representative with 112,054 votes against Che Che Gonzales with 41, 447.

Atty. Aringay explained that it is not within their power to proclaim first District Representative Alan Peter Cayetano since they have their own district board of canvassers.
