Launched along with the attention-catching Galaxy A80 which highlights a rotating camera system, the Samsung Galaxy A70 presents a more understated look. Clad in a slim body with a profile of 7.9mm, the Galaxy A70 makes use of Samsung’s 3D Glasstic material. The back cover of the phone exudes a stylish prism effect that reveals stunning gradient colors depending on light direction and reflection.

On the front, the Galaxy A70 sports a 6.7-inch Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400p screen resolution, which is among the biggest in Samsung’s Galaxy A portfolio of smartphones. Although it doesn’t boast the uninhibited view like the Galaxy A80 with Samsung’s first New Infinity Display, the Galaxy A70 can still deliver an edge-to-edge viewing experience with a 20:9 display ratio while providing optimal grip. The vast screen is only interrupted by a notch on the top middle which carries the phone’s front-facing camera.

In general, the Galaxy A70 presents a neat build. All physical buttons, consisting of the power switch and the volume rocker, are concentrated on the right side of the handset. The left side discreetly carries the triple slot that can accommodate two nano SIM cards and a microSD card. Meanwhile, the bottom side is occupied by a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB-C port for fast data transfer and charging.

On the imaging front, the Galaxy A70 comes with a triple camera system, consisting of 32-megapixel super high-resolution front and rear lens; a Depth lens that enables you to adjust the depth of field to focus before and after taking a shot so you can choose what and where you want to highlight; and an 8-megapixel Ultra Wide Lens for expansive photos. A couple of features available on the A80, the Galaxy A70 has Scene Optimizer which can recognize and intuitively enhance up to 20 scenes and Flaw Detection which automatically identifies glitches before you click for a perfect shot.

Primarily targeted toward today’s young, innovative, and tech-savvy content creators, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy A70’s camera with several features. In addition to standard photo and video modes, the Galaxy A70 also comes with Professional, Panorama, Slow Motion, Super Slow-mo, and Hyperlapse modes. The phone also features Live Focus which allows users to adjust real-time the depth and bokeh effect while capturing a photo. Still photos and Full HD videos captured by the Galaxy A70 are impressive, particularly those that were shot under adequate ambient lighting.

Beautiful on the outside yet powerful on the inside, the Galaxy A70 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 octa-core chip. Together with an Adreno 612 GPU, 6GB RAM, and 128GB onboard storage running on Android 9.0 Pie OS, the Galaxy A70 scored 168486 on AnTuTu Benchmark. Built-in storage is expandable up to 512GB.

In addition, the Galaxy A70 comes with a 4500mAh battery, coupled with Super-Fast Charging feature at 25W which is also available on the Galaxy A80. Available in three distinctive colors (blue, black, and white), the price and availability of the Galaxy A70 as well as the Galaxy A80 are yet to be determined locally.
