Sen. Kiko Pangilinan says Otso Diretso slate sets last hurrah on May 8

We are still finalizing the details… all the leaders of the opposition would be there,” Pangilinan said during the Kapihan sa Senado forum. Opposition senatorial candidates include reelectionist Senator Paolo “ Bam” Aquino IV, former senator Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, human rights lawyer Chel Diokno, Magdalo Representative Gary Alejano, election lawyer Romy Macalintal, civil society leader Samira Gutoc, former Quezon Rep. Erin Tañada, and former Solicitor General Florin Hilbay. Asked what their strategy would be for the next 10 days until the run up to the elections, Pangilinan declined to say. “Our strategy should remain confidential; we will just execute it. But yes, we have plans for the last 10 days,” he said. But apart from the main event, Pangilinan said the slate will release more television advertisements to further “amplify their messaging.” “Meron pa kaming TV ad to the last stretch…Abangan nyo,” he said. Because of their tight budget, Pangilinan said they hope whatever funds they were able to save up until now would be able to sustain them until the end of the campaign period. Nevertheless, Pangilinan said they are optimistic for all eight candidates of the opposition coalition saying it is much easier to convince people to make room for eight bets in their ballots. “Yun ang maganda sa walo lang ang kandidato. Mas madaling pakiusapan kaysa sa 12 kandidato, immediately sasabihin mahirap naman,” he said. #MatalinongBoto2019
