Police arrests 15 suspects after search results to discovery of P150,000 worth of shabu

More than P150,000 worth of shabu were confiscated from at least 15 drug suspects nabbed during the serving of a search warrant in Quezon City on Monday.
Police Brig. Gen. Joselito Esquivel Jr., chief of Quezon City Police District (QCPD), said the suspects, including a 15-year-old male, were arrested in an informal settler’s compound at Silangan Street, Kaingin Bukid, Barangay Apolonio Samson around 7:30 a.m.
The arrest stemmed from a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Cecilyn Burgos-Villabery in the compound of Eduardo Banawon, 50, and Brizo Buenafe, 41, who were allegedly involved in illegal drug peddling.
Joint operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and QCPD Drug Enforcement Unit served the warrant in the compound of Banawon and Buenafe where sachets containing white substance, suspected to be shabu, were seized resulting in their arrest.
Authorities confiscated in the said compound 47 sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P156,400, three aluminum foil strips with traces of shabu, and other drug paraphernalia.
Apart from Banawon and Buenafe, police also arrested their cohorts for also peddling and using illegal drugs.
Other suspects nabbed by the officers were identified as Joseph Oreta, 42, Gerald Navita, 20, Johnny Johnson, 35, Joseph Valenzuela, 31, Jemor Hilario, 37, Romeo Llego, 43, Jay-ar Usmad, 26, Ana Beltran, 26, Rizaldo Lopez, 63, Nino Tariman, 43, Gaddyboy Buenafe, 39, and Michael Cagadas, 33.
Arrested drug personalities were charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 while the minor was turned over to City Social Services and Development Department (SSDD) for proper program intervention.
