Various job and business fair will simultaneously be conducted in 29 sites across the country on Labor Day, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III bared Monday.

(ROBINSON NIÑAL JR./ PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO / MANILA BULLETIN) The groundbreaking ceremony of the first-ever overseas Filipino workers hospital in San Fernando, Pampanga will also mark the nationwide observance of Labor Day dubbed as “Pagpupugay sa Manggagawang Pilipino,” the Labor chief said. According to the Bureau of Local Employment, more than 1,500 participating employers will be bringing over 200,000 local and overseas jobs in the massive Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) and Build Build Build job and business caravan. The main site of the two job and business fair is at the Kingsborough International Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga, where 150 employers, including 20 overseas placement agencies, are expected to offer vacancies. Most of the available jobs locally are in the field of construction under the government’s infrastructure program, while skilled professionals, including English teachers for Thailand, are open for overseas placement. Further, simultaneous learning sessions on topics such as the Philippine Qualifications Framework by the Department of Education; How to Start a Business by the Department of Trade and Industry; and skills demonstration by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will also be carried out, A total of 100 TESDA scholarships will also be given out on that day. The National Reintegration Center for OFWs and Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns will conduct a livelihood seminar for interested job seekers, while the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration will hold a Pre-Employment Orientation, with Pag-IBIG Fund providing information on the fund’s benefits. Job fairs in Luzon will be at the Baguio City High School–Main Campus in the Cordillera Administrative Region; Magic Mall, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan; Robinsons Ilocos Norte Activity Center, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte; and Pangasinan PESO Compound, Lingayen, Pangasinan in Region 1; Cagayan Coliseum, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan in Region 2; Provincial Government of Bulacan (April 30); Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija; and Bocaue, Bulacan (May 2) in Region 3. Moreover, job and business fair sites in Luzon will be conducted in CALABARZON at Pacific Mall, Lucena City, Quezon; and at Robinson’s Mall, Tejero, City of General Trias, Cavite (May 2); in MIMAROPA at Bulwagang Panlalawigan, Provincial Capitol Complex, Camilmil, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro; and at Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; and in Bicol Region at Pacific Mall, Legazpi City, Albay. Jobseekers in the Visayas region may visit the job fair sites in Robinson’s Place-Jaro, Iloilo City (Region 6); Trade Hall, SM City Cebu; Mandaue City Hall, Centro, Mandaue City; Social Hall, Cebu Provincial Capitol; and Main Atrium, Robinson’s Place, Calindagan, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental (Region 7); and Tacloban Convention Center, Tacloban City; and Ormoc City Superdome, Ormoc City (Region 8).
