Gamara, it was recalled, was arrested in Cavite last week. He is a consultant for the Communist rebels in a failed peace negotiation with the government.
Gamara, authorities said, is a Central Committee member of the CPP-NPA (Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army). He used to be Secretary of the Metro Manila Regional Party Committee of the CPP NPA.
“We are now looking for the caretaker of the house identified as Ryan Dizon. He was not around when the search warrant was implemented on Friday,” said Eleazar.
The official said the raid stemmed from the operation in Imus City in Cavite last week that resulted in the arrest of Gamara and another top ranking Communist rebel
“During the first operation, the operatives recovered a suspected fake ID of Gamara that lead them to conduct casing and surveillance on the indicated address which prompted the application of another search warrant,” said Eleazar.
Police and the military through the Joint Task Force- National Capital Region then applied for a search warrant to raid the house for possible presence of firearms.
Confiscated during the operation that was conducted on Friday morning were
several documents, a seafarer’s identification and a record book, two hand grenades and a 9mm pistol.
Cases for violation of Section 28 of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013) and RA 9516 (Illegal Possession of Firearms, Ammunition or Explosives) will be filed against the suspects.
“Gamara will remain detained at the Regional Special Operations Unit Custodial Facility while Dizon who was not around during the implementation will be charged at-large,” said Eleazar.
