Last March 9, 2019, I wrote in this column an article titled “Has the US rejected God?” One of the encouraging letters that I received last March 10, 2019, is reproduced hereunder:

“Dear Madame Nelly,

“Your commentary this Sunday (Gentle Breeze 03/10/19) regarding how the United States abandoned its Christian faith through a series of inter-related events from banning prayers and Bible readings in public schools to the legalization of abortion through the obnoxious Roe v Wade Supreme Court decisions is truly and highly enlightening, and of recent development is the recognition of same-sex union. These are frightening and deeply offending to our religious sensibilities. Please continue discussions these issues in your write ups to keep us vigilant and alert so we can be on guard to prevent these from happening in our country.

“May God bless you!”

To accede to the requests of many of my readers like George C. Dee, I have chosen to write again about the US-Israel Biblical linkage, specifically on whether US stands with Israel.

This article will deal on the controversial proposal to change the boundaries of the Israel state. We know that the land of Israel was bequeathed by God to Abraham and to his descendants, the Jewish people. Today, Israel is continuously struggling to survive as a nation. Also, Israel does not waver in its policy not to allow the Middle East nations or any nation for that matter to occupy part of its land.

*              *              *

Does US support Israel in its move to retain its boundaries as bequeathed by God? Let us consider the stand of the recent US presidents. It will be recalled that in 1991, George W.H. Bush led the US to victory over Iraq in the so-called Desert Storm War. On his own initiative after the war, President George W.H Bush came out with a comprehensive peace plan for the Middle East. He convened the so-called Madrid peace process. He also pressured Israel to attend the Madrid Peace Plan with the Palestinians and Syrians. Under the Madrid Peace Process, Israel was to give up part of its land to be given away. President Clinton and President George W. Bush (son of the President George W.H. Bush) continued the peace process project.

History shows that the so-called peace plan in the Middle East involving a proposal for Israel to give part of its land to the Palestinians for peace was started by the late President H.W. Bush and continued up to September, 2000. The lands proposed to be given away covered the West Bank, Gaza, the Golan Heights, and East Jerusalem where the ruins of the ancient Jewish Temple are located. It will be recalled that President W.H. Bush who died just a few months ago convened the peace talks (Madrid Peace Process) last October 30, 1991, and came out with the famous statement: “Territorial compromise is essential for peace.”

At this point, it is noteworthy to remember two Biblical verses (Joel 3:1-2 and Zechariah 12:9) simply, which clearly and emphatically warned that God will judge the nations that divide the land bequeathed   by God to Abraham and to his Jewish descendants. Let me quote these verses: “For, behold, un those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.” (Joel 3:1-2 King James Version).

 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.” (Zechariah 12:9; King James Version)

Do you believe that warning judgments are imposed by God on nations that are on a collision course with Him over Israel? Let us go back to the Madrid Peace Plan initiated by the late President W.H Bush in October, 1991. While he was speaking at the Madrid conference, a powerful storm started in the North Atlantic Ocean. The storm hit the entire East Coast of US from Maine to Florida. The President’s seafront home in Kennebunkport, Maine, was struck by waves as high as 30 feet. The storm called the Perfect Storm had ocean waves over a hundred feet, the highest ever recorded. Remember the movie and the book called Perfect Storm?

Later, the Madrid peace conference moved to Washington, DC, on August 23, 1992. On that day, August 23, 1992, Hurricane Andrew hit Southern Florida. Hurricane Andrew was considered the worst natural disaster ever to hit America, causing damage estimated as high as 30 billion dollars. Is it a coincidence that Hurricane Andrew hit US the same day the Madrid peace conference moved to American soil? An awesome coincidence indeed – if one does not believe the Biblical prophecies on warning-judgments against any nation that tries to divide the land of Israel which was bequeathed personally by God to the Jewish people.
