LTFRB opens 28 P2P routes for franchise

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has opened 28 additional routes of Premium Point-to-Point (P2P) Bus Service for franchise applicants to include some areas outside Metro Manila.

Under Memorandum Circular 2019-10 released this month, the LTFRB has opened the new P2P routes in Bulacan, Batangas, Laguna, Baguio, Cebu, and Iloilo, which will be distributed through 16 franchise packages.

According to the LTFRB, each franchise package will be awarded to only one qualified applicant.

"The terms and conditions of these packages will be subject to review at least 6 months after the commencement of operations," the Board said.

The following are the listed packages and their respective routes with suggested fares:

The transport regulator said qualified applicants shall execute an Affidavit of Undertaking stating that 25 percent of tge number of required units will be delivered within three months, 50 percent within six months, 100 percent within nine months as certified by the vehicle manufacturer or supplier.

Applicants must also submit all legal, technical, and financial capability qualification documents provided by the LTFRB on March 22, Friday, between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Office of the Executive Director for routes in Metrro Manila and at the Office of the Regional Director for intra-regional routes.

"Filing or submission of qualification documents after 2 p.m. on March 22 shall be rejected outright, and returned unopened," the Board warned.
