Like the city’s senior citizens and persons with disability (PWD), solo parents registered with the Quezon City government will now enjoy 20 percent discounts in the city’s restaurants and food chains.
However, Vice-Mayor Joy Belmonte clarified that this privilege will only be applicable every first and fourth Sundays of the month and when the solo parent is accompanied by his or her children.

She further cleared that solo parents, joined by their children, and not by anybody else like their live-in partners, boyfriends or girlfriends may avail of the privilege.
Belmonte also reminded the concerned solo parents to present their solo parent identification cards to the restaurant personnel before being availed of the 20 percent discount.
In simple rites on Monday, Belmonte led city officials in the distribution of solo parent identification (ID) cards to hundreds of solo parents who are overwhelmingly composed of women.
“Masuwerte kayo na magkakaroon ng solo parent ID dahil may benepisyo kayong matatanggap mula sa pagkakaroon nito sa pagbili ng mga pagkain, bukod dito ay mayroon na po tayong 1,200 solo parents na nabigyan ng Tindahan ni Ate Joy” na naglalaman ng worth 10,000 pesos na grocery items bilang panimula ng kanilang mga tindahan na pagkukunan ng kita para sa kanilang mga pamilya at patuloy din po naming ginagawa ang mga paraan na magkaroon pa ng ng dagdag na benepisyo mula sa lokal na pamahalaan ang mga solo parent ng ating lunsod (You are very fortunate to be the recipients of the solo parent ID since you would receive benefits in purchasing basic food items aside from the 1,200 solo parents who benefitted from the Tindahan ni Ate Joy program where P10,000 worth of grocery items were attached to them being the starting capital for the recipients who now will have their source of livelihood.
