(ALBERT ALCAIN/PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO / MANILA BULLETIN) Duterte made the statement during the first National Assembly of the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City Monday. In his speech, Duterte warned Lim anew, saying he should just stay in hiding. Wala akong pakialam (You Peter Lim, don't show yourself to the police, the military, or to me. Because if I see you, I will really kill you. I don't care what happens)," he said. Pero pag nakita kita dito sa Pilipinas, you're dead (Just go back to China. It's up to you. But if I see you here in the Philippines, you're dead)," he added. Duterte then recalled the time the Cebu-based businessman asked to meet him to explain his side that he is not involved in the illegal drug trade. "Diba nag-usap pa kami, bago pa akong presidente. Nakikinig lang ako (I spoke to him when I was just a new president. He asked to meet because he wanted to explain. He said he couldn't have done it because he has kids. So I was just listening to him)," he said.. According to the President, he would've shot Lim back then if the latter had an arrest warrant against him. Wala na tayong istorya-istorya (He didn't have a case filed against him or a warrant back then. If there was, I would've shot him down the stairs immediately after the interview. We will not have to talk about anything anymore)," he said. Duterte then warned drug addicts to stay off the streets and do not cause trouble. So you drug addicts, do not idle in the streets because that is for the law-abiding people)," he said. So mamili ka. Mag-uwi ka na lang sa bahay, o ihatid ka ng pulis sa punerarya (Now if you are a criminal. You have no right to stay there and harm people. So you choose: either you go home, or the police will take you to the funeral parlor)," he added. Last week, President Duterte vowed of a harsher and possibly even a bloodier drug war. He then said that he will see the end of his campaign against illegal drugs.
