Man in drug watchlist shot dead by 4 armed men

A man, who was included in the drug watchlist, was gunned down by four unidentified armed men inside his residence in Sampaloc, Manila on Tuesday.

The police identified the victim as Jason Abalos, 39, florist, and resident of Algeciras Street in Sampaloc, Manila. He died on the spot after sustaining gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body.

Case investigator PO3 Charles John Duran of the Manila Police District Homicide Section said that Abalos was included in the drug watchlist of Barangay 450 Zone 45 in Sampaloc.

According to Betty Montes, 77, victim’s neighbor, she was awakened by several gunshots outside their residence at around 12:55 a.m. along Algeciras Street in Sampaloc on Feb. 5.

Montes told police that she saw four armed men wearing face masks coming from the victim’s house then they boarded two motorcycles parked outside. The suspects remain at large.

Recovered from the crime scene were three sachets of suspected shabu and one deformed slug from a caliber 45.

The body was brought to Archangel Funeral Homes for autopsy and safekeeping.
