Chief Justice Lucas P. Bersamin on Monday (January 28) appointed lawyer Brian Keith F. Hosaka as the new chief of the Supreme Court’s (SC) public information office (PIO).
However, Court Administrator Jose Midas P. Marquez will continue, in the meantime, as the SC’s spokesperson “for a smoother transition,” Bersamin said.
Both Marquez and Hosaka were law clerks in the office of the now-retired SC Associate Justice Josue N. Bellosillo.
Prior to his appointment as PIO chief, Hosaka was a founding partner of the Paner Hosaka & Ypil Attorneys-at-Law. He also served as deputy general counsel of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
He obtained his AB Interdisciplinary Studies (Merit Scholar) and Juris Doctor degrees from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1993 and 1998, respectively.
