PMA Alumni Association bestows Outstanding Achievement Award to General Madrigal

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Benjamin Madrigal, Jr., was bestowed the much-coveted Outstanding Achievement Award by the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, Inc. (PMAAAI) in recognition for his outstanding command, leadership, and management acumen as an alumnus of the PMA which led to his designation as the 51st Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The awarding and recognition was made in a fitting ceremony at the PMAAAI’s Annual Convention held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) last Saturday (January 26) and attended by some 800 alumni.
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana was the Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS), representing President Rodrigo Duterte.
Madrigal was joined by other awardees and PMA Cavaliers which include Interior Secretary Eduardo Año, Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista, Presidential Adviser Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr., Army Chief Lt. Gen. Macairog Alberto and Air Force Chief Lt. Gen. Rozzano Briguez.
In a statement, Madrigal said he receives the award with pride in the name of fellow Alumni of the Philippine Military Academy who work and continue to toil tirelessly in the service and security of our country and people.
“I accept the recognition with all humility in the name of fellow cavaliers who continue to serve the Filipino nation in other capacities be it public service, corporations, the academe, research, science and technology outside of the military organization or after serving the military," Madrigal said.
“I am receiving the award with gratitude to and on behalf of our soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines in some distant posts who immensely contribute to the accomplishment of AFP Mission," he added.
Madrigal is a member of the PMA “Sandiwa” Class of 1985.
