Police chief of Bohol is replaced

By Dave Albarado TAGBILARAN CITY – The head of the Bohol Police Provincial Office has been relieved. Sr. Supt. Angeles Geñorga was ordered relieved on Tuesday. The news his relief confirms rumors that he was going to be replaced.

Edgar Chatto said Geñorga’s leadership will be sorely missed. At the same time, the governor said he expects Gornez to be as professional and disciplined as Geñorga. Gornez used to be chief of the Tagbilaran police station when the mayor was Dan Neri Lim. In a statement, Geñorga thanked the Boholano people for the opportunity of serving them. He said he and his family have learned to love Bohol. Geñorga’s relief comes a year after he was chosen to be the chief of Bohol’s police force. The shuffle of officers also affected the leadership of the Tagbilaran police station. Supt. Patricio Degay Jr. is being replaced by Supt. Christopher Navida. Degay was appointed as the city police chief in April 2017.
