A slew of firsts: HP’s new PC products at CES 2019

With an aim to change the ways how people live, work, and play, HP unveiled at CES 2019 a slew of new products, including a new AMOLED display on its premium Spectre x360 15, a lineup of new Elite innovations featuring the Sure View privacy screen, and the OMEN X Emperium 65 with Soundbar.

Making it more premium

Introducing enhancements to its premium PC line, HP debuted a new design and display within the Spectre series. Learning that 97% of customers find a high resolution display as the most appealing feature on a device, the new HP Spectre x360 15 is now the world's first laptop with an AMOLED display.

Meanwhile, the HP Spectre Folio is set to attract more patrons with its Bordeaux Burgundy variant and optional 4K display. These choices are now available exclusively on HP's website.

Complementing its new laptops, HP is offering the ENVY USB-C Hub, an ultraslim pass-through charger for laptops equipped with two USB-A charging ports and an HDMI 2.0 port with 4K resolution support. Meanwhile, the HP 15.6 Odyssey Backpack lets users to carry their laptops in style. The backpack is available in three geometric color patterns.

HP is adding to its portfolio of Pavilion displays the HP Pavilion 27 Quantum Dot. The world's first Quantum Dot on glass display, this monitor is designed to render over a billion viewable colors. Two new other additions are the HP Pavilion 27 FHD which incorporates B&O audio and a pop-up privacy camera, and the HP Pavilion 32 QHD which flaunts a dynamic display with QHD resolution and remarkable viewing angle.

Meet the Elite team

HP's latest products under the Elite series now feature the third generation HP Sure View. An integrated privacy screen, Sure View provides users a more secure vision by protecting sensitive information while being on the go, at the desk, or around the office. New Elite series products include: the HP EliteBook x360 830 G5, the world's first brightest business convertible; the HP EliteDisplay E243p Sure View Monitor, the world's first display with an integrated privacy screen; and the HP EliteOne 800 AiO G5, the world's first AiO with a built-in privacy screen.

New OMEN Offerings

On the gaming front, HP is bringing to the table the OMEN X Emperium 65 Big Format Gaming Display with NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR, the world's first big format gaming display with a soundbar. Boasting a whopping 144Hz refresh rate, the display comes with a 120W speaker system equipped with LOFAR (Low Frequency Array), VRT (Vibration Reduction Technology), and a three-way stereo crossover system. These three elements combine to eliminate the use of a bulky subwoofer.

HP is also updating two of its best-selling OMEN PCs. The new HP OMEN 15 Laptop now boasts the option for the world's first gaming laptop with a 240Hz display. It is also among the first wave of laptops that carry NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 20-series GPUs with Wi-Fi 802.11ax offered as an option. The new HP OMEN Obelisk Desktop can have up to a 9th Generation Intel Core i9-9900K processor, 64GB of HyperX memory, NVIDIA GeForce RTZ 2080 Ti graphics card, and dual solid state drives (SSD) in RAID 0 configuration.

Pricing and availability

The HP Spectre x360 15 with AMOLED display is expected to be available in March. Pricing will be confirmed closer to availability.

The HP Pavilion 27 FHD Display is expected to be available in March for $329.

The Pavilion 27 Quantum Dot Display is expected to be available in March for $399.

The HP Pavilion 32 QHD Display is expected to be available in June for a starting price of $379.99.

The HP EliteBook x360 830 G5 is expected to be available in March. Pricing will be confirmed closer to availability.

The HP EliteDisplay E243p Sure View Monitor is expected to be available in February for $379.99.

The HP EliteOne 800 AiO G5 is expected to be available in June. Pricing will be confirmed closer to availability.

The OMEN X Emperium 65 with Soundbar is expected to be available in February for a starting price of $4,999.

The refreshed OMEN 15 Laptop is expected to be available in February for a starting price of $1,369.99.

The OMEN 15 Laptop that includes the optional world’s first 240Hz display is expected to be available in July.

The refreshed OMEN Obelisk Desktop is expected to be available in March for a starting price of $2,249.99.

The HP 15.6 Odyssey Backpack is expected to be available in March for a starting price of $69.99.
