The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) finally took custody of the man who was taken to hospital after being arrested for illegal possession of firearms and explosives, the Metro Manila top cop disclosed Sunday.

(FEDERICO CRUZ / MANILA BULLETIN) NCRPO Director Guillermo Eleazar confirmed that Arnold Padilla was already transferred from a private hospital to PNP General Hospital in Camp Crame, Quezon City around 2 p.m. Sunday following his arrest on August 24. "Temporarily, he was sent to a private hospital after his blood pressure went up and he felt chest pains. After the result of the angiogram was released, we found out that he has no heart problems so we insisted that we take custody of the suspect," Eleazar said. "However, when we are about to take him to Camp Bagong Diwa, he again complained of chest pains and his blood pressure went up so we decided to bring him to Camp Crame General Hospital," he added. Padilla was arrested after cops found from his house in Makati City an unlicensed firearm and explosives. He denied he owned the explosives, saying it was only planted by the police, and insisted the firearms were licensed. However, the PNP revealed that his firearms license has already been revoked in April 2018 after the police found that Padilla submitted a fake result of his drug test - which is one of the requirements before an individual can get a license. Padilla and his live-in partner were seen in a viral video that harassed traffic enforcers in Makati City after they were flagged for a traffic violation. Their bodyguards were caught punching the traffic enforcers. Eleazar assured that Padilla will not be given a special treatment and added that he will face the charges after his health condition gets better. "I consider the expertise of the PNP doctors because I don't want to take chances concerning health. But one thing is for sure, we will not allow him to fool the justice system and he will have to face the charges filed against him," he said. The charges against Padilla have already been filed at the Makati City Prosecutor's Office and a preliminary investigation has already been set.
