(Joseph Vidal / MANILA BULLETIN) “This will benefit the National Blood Services of PRC. We hope that with this support, the PCSO through the Philippine Red Cross, shall be able to extend its services to even more Filipinos in the performance of its mandate to raise and provide funds to strengthen the health and welfare programs of the government,” he said. The aid was received by PRC Chairman Richard Gordon. Present during the turnover ceremony were PRC’s board of governors, Secretary General Elizabeth Zavalla, PCSO Chairman Anselmo Simeon Pinili, and PCSO board of directors. “We all know that PCSO and PRC have been in the forefront in providing assistance to our countrymen especially those who have less in life. We have become partners in these endeavors because we both recognize each other’s contribution in making the lives of the Filipino better through our various programs in the fields of social, medical, and health services,” the general manager said. The P1 million grant was given by PCSO through the Institutional Partnership Program which aims to augment the financial resources of institutions engaged in welfare and charity services with emphasis on medical and health needs of its beneficiaries. “We all know PRC’s effort in providing safe and quality blood, which has benefitted many of our poor countrymen. Even more remarkable is PRC’s effort on the education and promotion of voluntary blood donation, donor recruitment, retention and care, blood collection, testing, processing, and blood issuance through its network of 82 blood service facilities nationwide,” Balutan added. HOW TO DONATE Gordon said well-meaning people and institutions may donate to PRC through the following: PRC’s BDO Banco de Oro (Port Area) savings account (swift code: BNORPHMM): 00-453-0190938 (peso deposit) and 10-453-0039482 (dollar deposit) Metrobank (Port Area) (swift code: MBTCPHMM): 151-7-15152434-2 (peso deposit) and 151-2-15100218-2 (dollar deposit).
