Critically-acclaimed horror-revenge thriller “The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion” is making Korean box-office movie history after hitting over the 2-million admission record mark.
'The Witch'
Four formidable names in the Korean film industry headline the cast of mystery-action “The Witch” namely: Kim Da-mi (from “Marionette”), Cho Min-soo (from “Pieta”), Park Hee-soon (from “The Age of Shadows” and “VIP”), and Hoi Woo-shik (from “Train to Busan”).
“The Witch” is about young woman by the name of Ja-yoon, an exemplary daughter in every sense of the word – she helps out around the house and farm, and does very well in school. Conflict from within her started to surface when out of nowhere, strange people start showing up and approaching her on the streets, talking as if they know her.
Convinced that they have mistaken her for someone else, Ja-yoon’s life turns upside down when these strangers start invading her home. She falls into utter confusion when these strangers claim to know more about her than herself. She also begins to question her past when she discovers an inexplicable marking on her shoulder.
“The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion” is distributed locally by OctoArts Films International.
