Father given away by son
Hoping his father would change, a son led police to the arrest of his own father who had been a drug suspect in Caloocan City.
Elements from PCP 3 arrested early Monday morning. 58-year-old Alejandre dela Cruz Sr., jobless, and his cohort, Danilo Dionisio, 60, electrician, both residents of Barangay 176.
Dela Cruz's son identified as Alejandre dela Cruz Jr. reported to the patrolling policemen regarding an ongoing pot session inside their house along Phase 8B around 1 a.m.
Upon arrival, the older Dela Cruz and Dionisio
were caught sniffing sachets of shabu.
Police recovered two more plastic sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
The younger dela Cruz told police that his father had a previous case for allegedly slapping his sibling.
Dionisio, on the other hand, was included in the drug watch list and had a previous drug case, according to case investigator PO1 Juan Miguel Madlangbayan.
Appropriate charges will be filed against the two men for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Kate Javier)
Fatal stabbing at drinking session
A construction worker was stabbed dead by his co-worker after the two had an heated exchange during a drinking spree at Bandong Street, Binondo, Manila on Monday.
The victim, identified as Larry Boy Zamora, 27, a resident of Merry II Subdivision, Camarin, Caloocan City, was declared dead on arrival at the Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital due to the lone stab wound on his chest.
The suspect remains at large and was identified by police as Rodolfo Quizana, 44, a construction worker and stay-in at Bandong Tower, located at 366 Bandong Street, Binondo,, Manila.
Investigation showed that prior to the incident, Quizana together with Zamora and his cousin Maiko Zamora were having a drinking session at the 4th floor of Bandong Tower at around 3:15 p.m.
For unclear reasons, the suspect got irritated at the victim that made him say "Subukan mo ako! (Try me!)" according to the report.
The suspect then stood up and grabbed a kitchen knife and challenged the victim before he stabbed him in the chest. Unsatisfied, the suspect then tried to attack Maiko who managed to escape.
Quizana then fled the premises after the incident. Maiko and other construction workers in the area immediately rushed the victim to the hospital where he later died.
Authorities recovered the kitchen knife that was used in the incident. They are now conducting follow-up investigations. A case of murder is being readied against the suspect before the City Prosecutor's Office. (Dhel Nazario)
Shotgun without permit
A security agency inspector was nabbed after authorities saw a shotgun inside his car during a road clearing operations in Quezon City Tuesday morning.
Chief Inspector Ferdinand Pariñas, officer-in-charge of the Quezon City Police District-Batasan Police Station (PS-6), identified the arrested man as Enriqueto Flores, 61, a resident of Barangay Old Balara, Quezon City.
Police said that Flores was a security inspector of Safe Force Security Investigation Agency.
According to the report, personnel from the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) were conducting sidewalk clearing operations along IBP Road, in Barangay Batasan Hills around 7:15 a.m. when they spotted Flores' Mitsubishi Mirage G4 with plate number WOF165 illegally parked on the road.
When an officer looked inside the car, he saw in plain view a 12 gauge shotgun inside, prompting him to seek help from the police.
Joint operatives from PS-6 and MMDA personnel arrested Flores for failure to show a driver’s license, and Comelec gun ban exemption documents.
Aside from the traffic violation,, he will be charged with violation of R.A. 10591 in relation to the Omnibus Election Code. (Alexandria San Juan)
