Peace covenant for May 14 polls signed in Antipolo

By Nel Andrade ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal — Candidates in the barangay and youth polls in this city inked a covenant Thursday morning outside the highly-revered pilgrimage site of the Antipolo Cathedral (National Shrine of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage). Before signing the covenant which aims to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections on May 14, a number of the candidates joined Commission on Elections (Comelec) officers and pilgrims in the Holy Mass. Just a day before, the Comelec office in the city supervised the start of a series of orientation seminars for teachers who will sit as the board of election tellers. Jason Alindog, Election Officer of Teresa, facilitated the seminar for the first batch of about 200 teachers at the San Luis Elementary School, here.
