Tagbilaran City — Central Visayas successfully retained its Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) overall seniors division title while Western Visayas reigned supreme in the youth division as the games came to a close Saturday at the Bohol Cultural Center here.
The Central Visayas delegation captured 143 gold, 65 silver, and 53 bronze medals from the sports, academic and cultural events.
Finishing second in the seniors division was Western Visayas, which had a 78-57-68 gold-silver-bronze medal tally, followed by Davao Region (37-38-51), Western Mindanao (23-5-5) and Bicol Region (18-16-51)
Sixteen regions participated in the 2018 PRISAA games, which covered 18 sports disciplines, cultural events and academic contests.
Western Visayas, which bagged 141 gold, 63 silver and 39 bronze medals to capture the youth division title, was followed by Central Visayas (51-27-20), Davao Region (42-38-55), Cagayan Valley (15-32-24) and Central Luzon (14-42-32).
Rev. Fr. Vicente Uy, PRISAA national president, announced that the next national PRISAA games will be hosted by the Davao region.
